John Paul McCarthy is a superb instructor and coach. All 4 of us became much better skiers following his individualised tuition, and also became less tired compared with previous ski trips because we were skiing more efficiently. JP always inspired and encouraged us to ski better, especially when he successfully re-energised us at the end of a long day spent exploring Verbier's 4 valleys. As a role model he was impressive, always working his skis, making us want to try to emulate him. Now, all I have to do is save up enough so I can hire him for the whole week! As a qualified mountaineering and kayaking coach I was both highly appreciative and envious of JP's professionalism and ability to teach. I have been fortunate enough to have worked with and learnt from some of the very best coaches and instructors in my field - in my view JP would easily hold his own in their company. Thankyou!

Over the course of 3 days Les Arcs ski lessons JP McCarthy tailored and combined exercises for each of us (a group of four) that built up and produced step improvement in our abilities. The instruction was patient, considered and well paced. JP was constantly engaging and inspirational. A trip across the resort for our last session was particularly good as by the end of the day he had us skiing terrain without worry that we would have struggled on just two days previously. It was a shame we couldn't enjoy his company for the rest of the week - though we certainly benefited! Many thanks JP.

Thank you for a brilliant moguls ski lesson (which happened to be my first lesson in 35 years of skiing). JP was an excellent instructor who was able to adopt different coaching methods to each individual on the course. I was able to get rid of old bad habits and while having great fun, my technique improved immensely in a short period of time.I would suggest that you emphasise the standard of skills required for joining each lesson, as some people in our lesson had obviously overestimated their own skills. I would definitely recommend you to my friends.

11-Apr-2013 Our 8 yr old son thoroughly enjoyed his ski lessons with JP at Les Arcs and notably improved his skiing. Furthermore the rest of the family benefited as during the afternoon he past on all the technical tips JP had taught him in the morning!

I will definitely recommend JP to friends. JP showed endless patience with all three of us in his ski lessons. The lessons were tailored to suit out requirements and the weather conditions so they were always a challenge but without being scary. We all improved massively over the course of the week and can't wait for next year. Thanks JP from the Crazy Welsh girls!! Xx

We had a private ski lesson for 4 of us (I would describe as lower intermediate - intermediate) and as it was our first day skiing we were all very rusty and were able to act on the advice that JP provided and improve our skiing throughout the week. We would highly recommend you.

J.P was my instructor, he listened to what my problem was, observed my skiing and gave me instruction & drills on how to improve. I would definitely book in with JP/ again if I ever return to Les Arcs!

Myself and my 2 friends had a 1/2 day skills development ski lesson on moguls skiing. JP spent the first period assessing our current skills levels for this particular activity and correctly determined that we first needed a brush up upon the specialist basics required. He then was able to build up from that and was able to progress us towards more challenging mogul opportunities. Individual focus and attention was given throughout, which enabled us to gain confidence. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and we all improved our skills. Over the following days of our holiday we practiced what we had been taught and our confidence and mogul skiing abilities continued to improve.

We found the instructor, John Paul McCarthy, was excellent. He was flexible with start time as we were late, due to sourcing safety equipment, he assessed our capabilities well in that he stretched us without going too far outside our comfort zone. We also received good training in the use of Transceivers, time in powder which we needed and also also tested us skiing in trees which some of us found challanging highlighting areas for improvement. My 2 sons (19 and 16 yrs) had a "pro explorer off piste" ski lesson in Les Arcs in January with 3 other skiers and thoroughly enjoyed it.

A fantastic days skiing for our Group. Despite the poor weather (some of the worst rain I've seen in resort!) JP found the best skiing on the mountain. We were looking to be challenged and do something new and he pushed everybody to the limit of their ability, achieving a great balance of guiding and technical tuition. A memorable day of tree skiing and we will definitely be using you again soon.

I emailed as we had been so impressed by the service and quality of lessons. Just in case you haven't seen this feedback, I can reiterate that we had two children who were beginner skiiers and both were in a group with JP (Vallandry). They had a fantastic time with him both in terms of learning how to ski and also having a lot of fun. I can wholeheartedley recommend the group ski lessons in Les Arcs - thank you!

My daughter had ski lessons with JP and said not only was it the first ski school she had enjoyed, but that she wanted to come back next year. I cannot recommend you highly enough - they were brilliant! THANK YOU GUYS!! See you next year!
